TIME: 2:30-3:30

TITle: Internet of Things: Using Big Data to Optimize Energy Efficiency

Workshop Description:

Have you ever wondered how much electricity appliances use, how to understand an electricity bill or read your energy meter? Participants will learn about the differences between energy efficiency and energy conservation and what programs are available to help better understand energy use. The Internet of things (IoT) describes physical objects (or groups of such objects) with sensors, processing ability, software, and other technologies that connect and exchange data with other devices and systems over the Internet or other communications networks. IoT devices do not need to be connected to the internet. They can be connected and controlled within a local network if they are individually addressable.
