The University of the Virgin Islands Caribbean Green Technology Center is hosting a mini-solar training session this summer from Saturday June 25th to Sunday June 27th on the OEK campus (UVI’s St. Thomas campus) from 9:30am - 4:30pm. The session will be taught by Silver Sun Solar as part of the Solarize St. Thomas coalition workforce development program. This free program invites UVI students and incoming first years to apply.
Want to learn the basics of solar energy?
Do you know how a photovoltaic panel works?
Want to figure out how all the components fit together to generate electricity?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then please don’t hesitate to sign up for our upcoming program.
During this mini-program, you will work alongside local solar installers and UVI faculty to get a taste of both the science of renewable energy and the hands-on training of PV panel installation. Sign up now as space is limited!
